Some feedback points on the safari are as follows:

1. The drivers/guides were excellent and knew alot of things about the animals. They were also very competent and safe drivers and were always on time and were very flexible as well.
2. The tented camp was also very good and we would recommend that place.
3. We liked being picked up and dropped off from our house - that was very convenient.

We enjoyed it all very much.

I would to Thank you and your team for organising a wonderful trip for us.

The driver was friendly, safe and efficient and the accommodation was of a good standard, the couple who run the place are lovely.

I would definately recommend you to anyone else who is interested in going to Mikumi.

Our safari had started on Feb 14th 09 - Our driver was good and spoke English. We arrived at Dar airport with no issues.

We met our next tour guide, who would be taking us on the actual safari at Kilimanjaro airport, also with no issues. He turned out to be a FANTASTIC tour guide. His name was Ayub AJ Mchinja. He was very knowledgeable about all facets of African life. There was little we asked, that didn’t get answered, and we saw everything we wanted too. We saw the big 5. I would definitely recommend him or use him again if I ever came back. He was also very understanding when I needed to stop all the time for washrooms (which I'm guessing is an issue for quite a few travelers). He issued warnings where they were needed; he warned me in Arusha about townies and beach boys in Zanzibar, he warned us at the hippo pool at Ngorongoro to be careful of Black Kites (the birds that steal your food), etc.

The Serena Lodges were fabulous, all three were great, I would definitely recommend them (although they have confusing layouts, every time we learned our rooms, we were checking out).

Arusha Hotel was so-so, not great but not terrible. The menu selection for our first night wasn’t very good, there was minimal selection and we weren’t allowed to pick off the regular menu, we had separate ones.

A tip you may want to offer is not to eat salad if you’re not used to African veggies. I became sick on our first night of safari after eating a salad. The safari itself was fantastic; I could rave for ages about everything we were able to see. I was obviously misinformed, as Gulzar, you were right; Lake Manyara was excellent for a first day park start, as the subsequent parks turned out to be as well. Each had their highlight. In L. Manyara it was monkeys for me, in Serengeti it was the big cats that attracted Dian, and then mum saw her hippos at Ngorongoro. The safari was so well planned; it went off without a hitch. I would definitely do it again.

Jim and I both had a wonderful time at Ngerendi Lodge. It is a beautiful lodge, and we were literally waited on "hand and foot". All of the people working there were extremely friendly and wanting to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We would certainly recommend it highly.

The one difference we encounter between the Maasai Mara Nature Reserve and Serengeti National Park is the better respect that the guides in Serengeti have for the park habitat and wildlife.

The wildlife in east Africa is second to none in the world, and it needs to be protected and preserved.

Jim and I express thanks and appreciation for you once again looking after us so well. It was another fantastic safari experience, and we look forward to future returns to Africa.

I have been meaning to write to you all day but I still have a flow of guests in and out of my house from our conference. But yesterday, I met our Safari group at the terrace and enjoyed hearing about their trip. They ALL said they had a wonderful time. They said they saw ALL the animals and were thrilled to see several lions one day, up close and one as they were leaving, after a lion catching a buffalo. They also said the food was WONDERFUL!! Now, I must tell you, that at our conference, the food was not that good so that made it even easier for this group to be pleased. Think they even gave the cook a standing ovation at the end.

It did rain but that didn't seem to hamper their enjoyment of their safari. The only complaint I heard was there were lots of mosquitos, but that is normal this time of year when the rains start.

Everyone also said the drivers did a great job and were very helpful and friendly.

Thank you, Gulzar!! Your team did a super job with our 21 member safari!!

Now you can really breath easier...at least in regards to our group
